This Privacy Policy explains how EDUSOLVER IO ("we", "our", "us") collects, stores, uses, and protects your personal data. By using EDUSOLVER IO, you agree to the practices described below.

EDUSOLVER IO is operated by an individual residing in Portugal.

This Policy complies with GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and other applicable privacy regulations.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address (if using email + password registration)
• Name and profile data (if using Google, Apple, or other third-party login providers)

We do not store passwords for third-party accounts. If email + password registration is enabled, passwords will be hashed using industry-standard encryption.

1.2 Usage Information

We collect:

• IP address
• Text queries, prompts, and AI-generated responses
• Uploaded files (PDF, images, audio, documents)
• Chat history
• Analytics data (page visits, clicks, interaction events)
• Error logs from third-party AI providers

1.3 Device & Technical Data

• Browser type and version
• Device type
• Session metadata
• Country (IP-based)

We do not collect or store payment card details. All payments are processed by our external payment provider.

2. Uploaded Files & Data Retention

2.1 File Types

You may upload:

• PDF
• PNG/JPG
• Audio files (supported formats, when enabled)
• Document formats such as DOCX (future support)

2.2 Retention Period

We store uploaded files until you manually delete them or delete your account.

Files uploaded by unregistered (anonymous) users may be stored for up to 12 months for product improvement, quality assurance, and system optimization.

After deletion, we may retain anonymized text or metadata where permitted by law.

2.3 Use of Uploaded Files

Uploaded content may be:

• processed by AI models to generate responses;
• used internally to improve EDUSOLVER IO;
• shared with third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, FAL AI, etc.) for processing.

These third-party providers may use the data according to their own policies. Opt-out from training is not available.

2.4 Public Content for Free Plan Users

Users on the Free Plan grant EDUSOLVER IO a non-exclusive license to publish anonymized questions and AI-generated answers in the public Questions archive.

By default, we publish only text content (such as prompts and AI-generated responses), not user-uploaded files.

If, for historical reasons, an uploaded file is linked to public content, you may request its removal. Upon request, we will delete the file and may retain only anonymized text.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the EDUSOLVER IO platform
• Improve AI accuracy and add new features
• Enhance user experience
• Analyze trends and performance
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
• Display contextual (non-personalized) advertising to free users
• Ensure compliance with our Terms of Service and Fair Usage Policy (for example, detecting technical abuse, fraud, or security threats—not evaluating academic performance or detecting cheating, which is covered separately in our Academic Integrity Policy).

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We rely on:

We share some data with third-party AI providers solely for processing your requests.

We do not sell personal information.

8. Children's & Minors' Privacy

EDUSOLVER IO is intended only for users aged 18 and older.

We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from individuals under the age of 18.

If we discover that a minor under 18 has submitted personal data, we will delete this information upon request.

Some publicly accessible educational tools on our website may be available to general audiences, but:

• they do not require registration,
• they do not involve collecting personal data, and
• paid features and accounts remain restricted to adults (18+).

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically.

The Effective Date will reflect the most recent update.
